Finance Minister: “Opposition complains about concessions. They’ve signed 178 out of 213”

The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, declared that the opposition’s concerns about PPP concessions are a farce, since from 213 active concession contracts, 178 were signed by the Democratic Party government.
“178 concessions were given by the Democratic Party, and 98% of them are unrequested bids”, Ahmetaj said.
According to him, from May 2013 to September 2013, the Democratic Party government has given 45 concessions, when Berisha II was about to leave.
The Democratic Party, according to Ahmetaj, has signed 22 concessions only the last two days before leaving the government, with a cost that has completely been paid by citizens.
As for the concessions of the Rama government, Ahmetaj said that they are different, because they are offering free dialysis to citizens.
Ahmetaj published the number of concessions signed by the Finance ministers:
37 signed by Genc Ruli, from the Democratic Party now in opposition
38 signed by Florion Mima, from the Democratic Party now in opposition
19 signed by Edmond Haxhinasto, from the SMI, now in opposition
1 signed by Erion Veliaj, from the Socialist Party, Tirana Mayor,
4 signed by Ilir Beqja, from the Socialist Party,
4 signed by Ridvan Bode, from the Democratic Party,
2 signed by Sokol Dervishaj, from the Democratic Party,
6 signed by Sokol Olldashi, from the Democratic Party,
8 signed by Damian Gjiknuri, from the Socialist Party
“You are champions, with 178 concessions, and you are the ones who now speak about poverty. You collect taxes from the self-employed who earn money. We don’t do that”, Ahmetaj declared.
