The Albanian army does not allow fishing vessels to fish near Porto Palermo, claiming it is a military area, but they have allowed private yachts there.

Some fishermen from Himara and Qeparo report on Fiks Fare that authorities don’t allow their fishing vessels to deck at Porto Palermo even if they are sinking. Porto Palermo is a bay protected by storms.

Top Channel’s “Fiks Fare” journalists visited the fishermen, who said they do have permits for Porto Palermo. However, journalists didn’t find anyone at the offices, although the visit was during working hours.

Fiks Fare then met with Brigadier General Ylber Dogjani, who said that Porto Palermo does not allow non-military vessels, except for in case of a problem.

“Our problem is that fishing vessels that come during storms don’t leave when the weather gets better. They stay there claiming they have mechanical problems. As for the yachts, the owners say they have technical problems and they are working to be able to leave the site”, Dogjani declared.
