Socialist party accused Berisha’s government of trafficking falsified money to buy Albanian’s votes on May 8th elections.

During a press conference, Namik Dokle said that the silence of the institutions on this event confirms opposition’s accusations.

“The fake government, after selecting a fake candidate for the municipality, now is also using fake money. The high quality of the falsified currency in Leks, Dollars and Euros, the big quantity of this money, and the attempts to use them for buying votes, clearly shows that this is not a random criminal act, but an operation of governmental level”, Dokle said.

“This is Sali Berisha’s ultimate attempt to manipulate the elections, by abusing with the poverty of Albanian citizens. This is a shameful attempt to defraud and steal the Albanians twice; once by buying the votes and once by using falsified money. The dirty money of thievery, corruption and smuggling is being used by Berisha’s regime to buy and intimidate the media.

The falsified money is being used to manipulate the election results by buying votes for his candidates” he added.

“We appeal all Albanian citizens to be very cautious and not fall victims of Berisha’s ultimate fraud. We denounce the fact that the institutions that should be investigating and fighting this traffic, aren’t taking any measures. Berisha’s Finance Ministry should have given the alarm by now for this traffic.

Interior Ministry and the State Police of Berisha’s Lulëzim should have started to fight this crime. The silence of these institutions confirms that it is in fact being organized by the government”, Dokle concluded.
