The Democratic Party of Albania declared through MP Alibeaj that a recent report of Europol confirms that Albania is still a main source of cannabis traffic in the EU.

Alibeaj says that the report notes that: 1, drug market in the EU is 24 billion EUR; 2, cannabis makes most of the market that is controlled by criminal organizations;  3, Albania is the main source of the traffic; 4, drug money laundering has been increased.

Alibeaj referred to this report to answer to the declarations of the majority, which accuses the opposition of damaging the image of Albania to international partners.

“The EUROPOL report reconfirms that the Albanian opposition is not the one damaging the image of Albania. It is the government of Edi Rama, which has allowed the drug traffic and profited from it. During the past four years with Edi Rama, Albania turned into a source for money laundering from drug money, most of which is owned by Edi Rama, and this money must be laundered to pay more politicians and voters”, the Democratic Party MP declared.

According to the DP,drug and crime are the reason why Albania ahs been denied the accession negotiations for the past years.
