The Albanian Post Office in Elbasan has been working for some days
without the coupons that serve for the procedure of receiving the
biometric passport. Today there have been absences for the coupons of
identity cards too.
According to the citizens, the coupons have been lacking in many other municipalities of Elbasan district, although some people need passports urgently, for making their holidays abroad.
The post office has only the so called “emergency coupons”, which cost twice the price of the normal ones, but many citizens cannot afford it.
Inner sources say that the post office has requested new coupons, but the request hasn’t been taken in consideration by the concessionary company “Aleat”, which has left in the market only the expensive ones, although the production cost is the same.
