EBRD will fund Bovilla and the new water supply at the Unaza e Re. The Tirana Municipality and this institution signed a cooperation agreement today in London.

The agreement foresees funds for doubling the capacity of Bovilla, and building a new water supply line at the Unaza e Re, Yzberisht and Kashar. Tirana is the first local authority that will be selected by EBRD, signing a direct cooperation agreement.

The agreement will allow doubling the quantity of filtered water that supplies Tirana’s citizens and laying a new network in areas that have had huge urban developments, but without thinking about urbanization first.

Mayor Veliaj said that after formalizing the funding, the municipality will start working right away, to make sure that within five years, their ambition will be made real and give the capital water supply 24/7.
