The Municipality of Tirana, in cooperation with the Territorial Protection Inspectorate and the Armed Forces, started demolishing dozens of buildings at the Agriculture University that were damaged by the earthquake and which pose dangers to the families and students who were sheltered there.
After offering rent bonus to the families that were living in these buildings, and after compensating the students who were living in the dorms, the municipality made way for the construction of the new University Campus.
The Mayor of Tirana, erion Veliaj, and the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, followed the demolishing of the buildings and to make sure that the students and residents who live in those buildings will be taken care of.
