DP: Rama pressures the Electoral College

The Democratic Party accused the opposition leader of continuing to
pressure the Electoral College, even one day before the final decision
for Tirana.

The Spokesperson for this Party, Jorida Tabaku, declared that the citizens are the ones who decided for Tirana, and not the politicians.

“24 hours before the Electoral College could give a decision on the appeal that he himself has made, Mr. Rama is asking the judges to rule only according to his desires. This pressure against independent institutions is unacceptable and it clearly shows that Mr. Rama is the one who has closed his eyes and ears, by losing his contact with the reality”, declared Tabaku.

“In a democratic process, the citizens are the ones that decide who is going to win the elections, and not the politicians and their personal agenda. Why after counting every vote, Mr. Rama wants to consider the will of the citizens as unconstitutional?  Why did Mr. Rama declare himself a winner on May 14th, with only 10 votes, and now that the voice of 250,000 citizens was heard, he wants to nullify the elections? The answer is simple. Because he has been asking for two years what the citizen do not want to give him”, Tabaku added.
