DP: Rama broke the electoral silence

Democratic Party representative at the Central Election Commission,
Njazi Kosovrasti, accused the Socialist Party leader, Edi Rama, of
breaking the electoral silence by giving an announcement for the media
after voting.

He asked the Media Monitoring Board and the Central Election Commission to take the necessary legal measures.

“The law was infringed by propaganda during the electoral silence period. It has never happened that one leader uses this moment for electoral propaganda. We all saw the letter that he took out, although he tried to be cautious. Despite the way it was performed, that was a law infringement, specifically of article 77.2, the law of electoral silence”, Kosovrati declared.

“I appeal Media Monitoring Board to follow this case and use it as a main point in their final report. Even without the proposition of the board, you cannot leave this aside. It is a thievery, an open infringement of the process, and it may create precedents in the future”, Kosovrasti declared.

While the representative of the Socialist Movement for Integration, Ylli Manjani, proposed that the Socialist Leader should be fined with 500,000 ALL (3500 Euro) as the law provides, but his suggestion was not taken under consideration.
