The Democratic Party handed over a motion for debate with Prime Minister Edi Rama, for removing more than 20,000 families from the social welfare scheme.

The opposition says these families are in extreme poverty and the exclusion has been abusive, without transparent procedures, with violations to the point of opening a criminal prosecution.

“Hundreds of families have declared that they don’t have money to eat. The situation verified so far has been caused by the government’s irresponsibility and has made the situation of these families worse since the economic assistance is their only means of survival”, the Democratic Party declared.

DP says that with this exclusion, the government has violated the Constitution. The request was warned this Monday by Lulzim Basha, who considered the government’s action as a holocaust.
