Deadly coronavirus, Foreign Ministry: Exact number of Albanians in China, unknown

In face of the dire coronavirus epidemic that has plagued China, Top Channel asked the Albanian Ministry of European and Foreign Affairs for information on the current number of Albanians studying or working in China. Its spokesperson stated in her response:
“Due to the particular circumstances in China we lack detailed statistics. Only the scholarship board in China has sent us information about the students, stating that there are about 60 Albanian students. There is no reports of infected person between them.”
But there are also unconfirmed reports of about 400 Albanian citizens, working or looking for work in China, with or without proper documentation, who because of their unclear status, avoid being declared or registered with the local authorities. For the moment, the close contacts being held between the Albanian foreign Ministry and its embassy in China, suggest that there are no information on Albanian citizens infected by the deadly corona-virus.
