Croatian President: “Surprised by Tirana’s transformation”

“I am surprised by the changes I saw in Tirana”, said the President of Croatia, Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic, who was received by the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in a special meeting.
The President and the Mayor discussed the increasing the cooperation between Tirana and Croatian cities for positive experience exchange.
“I said one day ago for Croatian media that I was surprised by the changes in Tirana, since my last visit in 1993”, Kitarovic said, adding that she was honored for receiving the City’s Key.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj valued the role of Croatia in the Balkan region, as a spokesperson of our progress towards the EU.
“Croatia has practised the open-door policy for the countries of Balkan, as a voice of our progress in the EU. I think that Croatia and its leadership, the wonder of Croatia’s transformation to the EU integration process, is not just a destination, but an entire path. That’s why I am very inspired by this path”, Veliaj said.
Veliaj and Kitarovic visited the Skanderbeg Square and the Europa Park, where they planted a tree.
