Court sentences Ruzhdie commissioners

35 months in prison and a fine of 2.25 million ALL is the sentence given
by the Court of First Degree in Fier District for five former members
of the Electoral Commission in Ruzhdie.
The judge panel did not take in consideration the request of Prosecutor Çlirim Sino, who asked one year in prison for each defendant.
The judge of this case, Roland Jaupaj, decided to sentence for power abuse, falsification of electoral documents, election secrecy violation, and for voting more than one the citizens Bujar Kararaj, Shezai Kararaj, Veledin Myftaraj, Robert Myftaraj and Pellumb Myrto with 7 months in prison and a fine of 450,000 ALL.
While citizens Qazim Aliaj, Pëllumb Ferzaj and Ervin Myftaraj, commissioners of the opposition, were fined for 150,000 ALL.
The decision of Judge Jaupaj also fined Elmaz Donaj with 100,000 ALL for voting more than once.
