Two days after the Election Day, vote counting process still goes on in Tirana, Elbasan and Durres. The common fact that these three
of the biggest Albanian cities share, is that the Socialist candidates are leading the race.

In Durres and Tirana, the result continues to remain very close. Vangjush Dako in Durres, the current mayor, same as Rama in Tirana, is leading the race, based on the ballot boxes counted up to now, while Sejdini in Elbasan has left his rival far behind.

The counting process has continued very slowly since Tuesday and not without incidents, blockings or delays like in Tirana’s Municipal Units 8 and 10. Other incidents took place after midnight at Municipal Unit no. 6 in “Kombinat”, where until that moment the situation had been very calm and without problems.

The first Municipal Unit that completed the counting process was MU no 1, which gave a result in favor of Edi Rama. The Socialist candidate has won with 9675 votes against the 9191 votes of Lulzim Basha.

The early hours of Wednesday started with the counting process finished in MU 10, resulting the democrat Lulzim Basha ahead of 524 votes.
