Central Election Commission is continuing the vote count for the contested votes of the candidates for Tirana Mayor.

The Socialist legal representative asked inspection of the ballot boxes materials for inconsistencies, because, according to him, there were two ballot papers more than the total numbers of voters on the lists.

“CEC must inspect why this commission is giving us more ballot papers than voters”, Saliaj declared.

The commissioner Deshira Subashi declared that this normative act from CEC, for opening the ballot boxes, is illegal.

“This procedure is illegal, and will remain as such until the end. We have taken a decision in the Central Election Commission while preparing for the elections, and we have assigned the protocol model. Based on this protocol, we will inspect the irregularities and the contested votes, according to article 118. This act from the Central Election Commission does not specify what rule will be followed for this action”, told Deshira Subashi to the CEC Chairman Arben Ristani.
