Cerrik Oil Refinery, the oldest of state owned enterprises, built during
the Italian invasion, is going to be sold to private businessmen.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Energy has created the list of the objects that will be privatized within this year, one of which is the refinery that has been in idle for at least 10 years.

Former Minister of Economy, Ilir Meta, had declared in a plenary session that the refinery would have been made functional very soon.

“I guarantee that the Ministry of Economy has started the procedures for making the Cerrik refinery functional, in a very transparent way, for liberalizing this market which is very important for oil processing in the country”, declared Meta in front of the opposition deputies.
