The Central Election Commission decided unanimously to burn the May 8th local election ballots.
The ballots will be eliminated from October 25th to December 31st. What draws the attention is the unanimous decision, although Socialist Party CEC members declared that the Tirana Prosecution is investigating the inconsistencies.
But the date assigned for the burning will not stop the Prosecution from seizing the boxes required for the investigation. The ballots’ elimination is a legal obligation provided by the Electoral Code.
The CEC decision for burning the ballots of 29 June 2009 received only the votes of the majority. This time, the decision was unanimous.
