The election campaign has officially started for the June 5th early elections in Macedonia.
In the next 20 days, the political parties will present their political programs to the citizens.
The campaign will be over on June 3rd 24:00. 18 parties will compete, 7 of which are Albanian.
1.8 million Citizens have the right to vote. These elections will be held according the proportional method in six electoral units of the Macedonian territory.
For the first time, the macedonian emigrants will be able to vote. The political parties have previously signed a common document for democratic elections.
USA, EU, NATO and OSCE have appealed for free and honest elections. The process will be followed by 330 OSCE-ODIHR observers and 3500 locals.
The June 5th central elections are the second early elections under the rule of Nikolla Gruevski.
