The Albanian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ditmir Bushati, said that the Albanian opposition is trying to be self-excluded from the accession negotiations process. He appeals to them to be more constructive.

“The EU decision is not a decision about the Albanian government or about Edi Rama. It is regrettable that the Albanian government is betting against, with an ultimatum tone as if everything will be over on June 28th, and that the sun will not rise again on June 29th. This is a process that affects all Albanians. It is regrettable that the opposition is trying to be self-excluded from the contribution that political forces have in this process. We strongly believe that by the end of this month, the EU council will open a clear perspective for Albania as regards this process, which, I reiterate, will not be easy, will not be accompanied by rights, but also by obligations. I want to hope and believe that the Albanian opposition should be more constructive, not to remove the differences between us in a political pluralism, God forbid, but to become part of those processes related to state consolidation. The sooner our political class understands this, the better will it be for all common citizens”, Bushati declared.
