14 miners left the gallery today and were sent under medical care, due to their grave health conditions.

The miners decided to interrupt the hunger strike for two days and will start it this Monday, after rising up the tents in front of the ACR Company.

With the agreement for making the miners come out the gallery they eliminate the danger of further health problems, due to the poisonous gases inside and the lack of light in the underground galleries.

Miners’ Syndicate Council reached an agreement for changing the location of the hunger strike, which is expected to be held in front of the offices of ACR Company.

One day ago, police made two attempts to remove the miners from the galleries, executing the order of Diber court, but they faced the resistance of the miners’ colleagues and family members.

There have been clashes between the police and the miners at the entrance of the first elevator. After this, the police blocked all entrances.

But while traveling to the place where the miners were continuing the hunger strike, police stopped at the second elevator, which goes to the miners. This elevator was blocked by the miners and it was impossible for the police to go down.

Meanwhile, the Bulqize miners’ strike has brought in Albania the President of Decometal Austria Company, who owns the concessionary Company ACR.

Mr. Rohtraut Skatche-Depich gave her comments about the strike during an interview for the miners strike.

“My opinion is that the strike was created artificially. Unfortunately, irresponsible syndication members started the strike without having the miners’ interest in their mind”, Skatche-Depich declared.

ACR announced this Thursday an understanding memorandum that was refused by the syndication leaders. The President of Decomental revealed the steps that she will undertake for this situation.

“As you might know, we have a court order which ruled that the occupiers of the mine are a small illegal group that should leave the galleries. I am waiting the execution of this order. After the order will be executed, there will be no problem for me and my mineworkers to sign an agreement that will turn everything to normality”, Skatche-Depich underlined.

When asked if ACR would leave the mine if the Bulqize situation will not find a solution, Mrs. Depich answered:

“No, I have no intention to leave the concession, because we have all the rights and we have done a great job as investors. As you might have known, we have invested 30 million EUR. We have started an investment for installing new expensive machinery bought in Poland and we will continue to invest in Bulqize, growing the mine with the best standards”, Skatche-Depich declared.

Meanwhile, the miners declared that they will continue their strike:

“We are looking to sign an additional part to the agreement. If our demands will not be met, we will not leave the strike”, declared the head of the Syndication Confederation, Kol Nikolla.
