Border Demarcation with Montenegro, Self-Determination throws tear gas in Parliament

The Parliament of Kosovo gathered today for the border demarcation with Montenegro, but the MPs of the Self-Determination Movement threw tear gas, forcing the others to leva the room, a practice that has been used even before by this political force.

The law requires 2/3rds of 120 MPs, but the situation remains unclear. The LDK MP, Ramiz Kelmendi, had declared that he would not be part of the voting since his family had been threatened if he voted in favour of the demarcation. However, he was in the room.

The independent MPs, who left the Self-Determination Movement, said that despite the division, they will follow the same line with Albin Kurti’s party.

The adviser of Ramush Haradinaj invited the independent MPs to vote the pact, reminding them that they are being held hostage of a revolutionary ideology.

Foreign Ambassadors appealed Kosovo politicians once again to end the isolation of the Kosovo people since the voting is a condition for removing the visa regime to the Schengen area for all Kosovo citizens.
