The Albanian Prime Minsiter Sali Berisha reacted after OSCE-ODIHR
published the May 8th local elections report. He emphasized that the
report doesn’t mention any problem with the Constitution, and he
expressed his stance against the idea of electing the President from the
people.

“I am against the idea of electing the President from the people. The report doesn’t mention Constitutional problems. The Constitution cannot change every three years. DP will not place a new clause in the Constitution that would bring the country in elections every time that the others refuse to vote”, Berisha declared.

“The report says that the positive part of these elections serve as a basis for a future progress. I am ready to invite the opposition to change the technical aspects that showed to be problematic in these elections”, Berisha added.
