The vote of the only municipal councilor from LZHK in Berat (League for
National Development), enabled the Socialist Party to take the majority
of this city’s council.
The Socialist Party had won 17 councilors, same as the Democratic Party. The 35th councilor belonged to LZHK.
In the first meeting of this council, the Socialists proposed Valbona Zylyftari as Chairman of the Council, while the Democratic Party proposed Gentian Zere.
The Socialists took the Municipal Council with only one more vote, with the help of LZHK. On May 8th elections, Berat Municipality was won by Fadil Nasufi of the Socialist Party, who is serving his third mandate.
