Judge Manjola Bejleri, decreed by the President as candidate for the
Supreme Court, but rejected by the Commission of Laws, declared that
the relation against her was unfounded.

Bejleri explained that in the last two years she has judged 890 cases and only 15 of them had been rejected by the Court of Appeal, a much better result than what the Parliamentary Commission presented about her, which said that only 40% of her decisions were approved by the Court of Appeal.

Bejleri said that politics has the right to chose the candidacy of a judge or not, but not to attack and denigrade her image with untrue facts.

“I respect the legal and constitutional rights that the deputies have for assessing my candidacy. But after I heard the relation in the media, I felt that it was my obligation to say that this relation is unfounded”, Bejleri declared.

The judge said that the statistics about her work are easily verifiable even in the official we page of Tirana Court.

The Commission of Laws not only rejected the candidacies decreed by the President, but they also requested the Ministry of Justice to investigate her work.
