Democratic Party candidate for Tirana mayoral race, Lulzim Basha,
reacted after the open letter that the opposition leader addressed to
the public, accusing Edi Rama of pressuring the Electoral College.
According to Basha, this action is an unprecedented move that is threatening justice.
“My opponent declared that he will not recognize the Electoral College, because he is based on law and not on political interests. He has the right to use all legal means, but he has chosen an unprecedented move by pressuring the Electoral College through a public letter. Pressure against this institution is unacceptable, because it is a direct threat to justice”, Basha declared.
The Democratic Party candidate, who was declared winner of the Tirana mayoral race after the last decision of the Electoral College, thanked the citizens for patiently waiting the end of the process and for making possible their voice to be heard.
