Basha: Every vote to be counted

The “Alliance for the Citizen” candidate for Mayor of Tirana, Lulzim
Basha, asked the Central Election Commission to count every vote
respecting the citizen’s will.

He appealed his rival, Edi Rama, to not impede the vote counting process.

“Any result that does not allow the voices of all citizens to be heard is not a democratic voice of the people. Mr. Rama pretended today that the vote counting process has ended, but not every vote has been counted. I asked the Central Election Commission today to count the votes that were accidentally inserted in the wrong ballot boxes. These are valid votes and no one can deny people’s right to elect. This is the process that Mr. Rama is impeding”, Basha declared.

“I hope that calm and patience prevails and that we turn back to work, so that this process comes to an end. This is not about me and Mr. Rama, but about the will for having each vote counted. I ask the Central Election Commission to count every vote that has not been counted yet, and this must be done with transparency. I am determined to do everything that this process may remain free, transparent and accurate”, Basha underlined.
