Basha: Citizens don’t know what will happen. Government focuses on propaganda

The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, declared that two weeks and a half after the November 26th earthquake, citizens in Durres and other areas are not clear of what is going to happen to them.

“The government’s attention is on propaganda and of how to cover the criminal negligence and failure that took the life of 51 people. The situation is dangerous for many families that are turning to their homes because they don’t have a shelter offered by the government”, Basha declared.

He added that this crisis is taking the situation towards a humanitarian crisis, and his appeal to the citizens is to not put their lives in danger by turning to the damaged homes. “This should be done only after those who are responsible are going to take full legal and criminal responsibility”, Basha declared.

“Rather than going around like vultures, the government representatives should immediately allocate funds for sheltering and feeding children, parents and senior citizens in need. The government should take 150 million EUR away from his oligarchs, from the budget that they approved secretly. How can they leave citizens in the open, while the money of citizens go to the oligarchs? There is no bigger failure for a government than not knowing how many people do they still have without shelter, without food, without assistance, and how many buildings are out of function. This negligence is going to cost lives”, Basha said.
