“Cosmic S” is the name of the sculpture in Tirana’s “Zogu i Zi”, the city’s busiest entrance.
The work of art was created by Helidon Xhixha, a well-known Albanian sculptor, now famous in Europe and the USA.
“This work is dedicated to Tirana, which has always been a model for Albania. Recently it was has served as a model regarding architecture, urban level, sport, etc. I am honored to be giving this monument to a city with such a strength of expression that was given to it by Mayor Veliaj”, Xhixha said.
The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that this is a double gift. “Our Lebanese friends have donated the structure with the water fountains, a green space that cleans the air in an area with truly dense traffic. However, the passion of the Albanian people can also be seen in this work of art. We are very grateful”, Veliaj said to Xhixha. “He is one of our most precious artists. His works cost millions of Euros, but he dedicated three months of his life to the creation of such a masterpiece for our capital”, Veliaj said.
