Albanian watermelons to Serbia
The Albanian watermelon market has been able to penetrate Serbia and win over the local production, which has made the Serbian traders to see this as a threat.

Imported watermelon in Serbia comes mainly from Albania and Macedonia, and prices are even expected to drop this year. The Serbian media are being obliged to decrease the price to less than 10 cents (Euro).

According to the farmers, most of the supermarket chains buy watermelons from Albania and Greece, and they asked for the uncontrolled import to not be allowed. The local productions have been affected by the heavy snow of the winter.

Albania and Serbia have increased the trade exchanges with 25% in the last two years, but, however, Albania is the biggest importer of the two.
