Court releases man wanted by Interpol
Astrit Gjoni was arrested on 5 April 2012 by the Albanian police, on behalf of Interpol Roma, who had released an arrest order for involvement in criminal organizations, prostitution and clandestine emigration.

The lawyer asked his release since the generalities of the defendant were incorrect, without the names of his parents. The lawyer declared that there are 29 people in Albania who have his name.

The Prosecutor declared that she was notified by the Cosenza Court of Appeal, in Italy, that his international arrest order was cancelled and the defendant was released from his charges.

After the verdict, the defendant who was released declared that he was resident in England and that he had never lived in Italy.

The State Police has executed dozens of arrest orders against people who have been wanted by the international police.
