Tourism development in Albania
On the verge of the tourist season in Albania, SP continued its
“Albanian Rebirth” agenda at the city of Durres, meeting with the
tourism interest groups.
The opposition leader, Edi Rama, declared that many capitals have been invested in Durres, and too much energy has been spent for tourism development. But as everywhere else, according to Rama, the financial capitals and energies have completely been canalized in the spontaneity road of bold ideas and ambitious desires of individuals, thanks to sporadic supporters of the local leaders.
“It is very important to not perceive the Albanian tourism as affected by the current official border between the Albanian state and Kosovo, but as an integrated tourism, without taking the official border in consideration. Not only for the ethnic tourism, Albanians who live in the surrounding states, but also for foreign tourists, who would tend to travel to Albania thanks to a well-organized information, supported with a very rigorous inventory of all these assets”, Rama declared.
Mr. Rama, same as other Socialist MPs from the coastal cities, raised the problem of the moratorium for sea vessels.
“Today we are speaking about coastline tourism, and we have the only coast in the Mediterranean where private vessels are not allowed to swim. An absurdity based on war against traffic, but it is like imprisoning every citizen for avoiding crimes”, Rama declared.
