Appeals Court leaves two former Road Authority directors in prison

The two former Road Authority Directors, Dashamir Xhika and Andi Toma, arrested for corruption and power abuse with a 500 million ALL damage for the construction of the Elbasan-Gjinar road, challenged the court’s decision at the Court of Appeal.
The Court of Appeals heard both parties and ruled to leave both former directors in prison, together with supervisor Rexhep Tarba. The two businessmen brothers, Agron and Kujtim Hysa, and the administrator of the Arifaj Company, Rezarta Bokciu, were released on probation.
Investigations showed that these persons, with their actions and omissions, have caused abuse with public funds issued by the government for the Elbasan-Gjinar road, while the construction has not been realized.
