On the 20th anniversary of the Book Fair, publishers say that they are facing a lot of problems, such as 20% VAT, which is not applied for books in any of the European countries.

Petrit Ymeri, chairman of the Publishers’ Association, says that the income tax for creative activity should be reduced from 15% to 5%.

To encourage reading, publishers say that public libraries need to be enriched with new titles.

“It should be a national priority to enrich public and school libraries with books, in all public education institutions, municipalities and communes”, Ymeri underlined.
