The German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, will meet the Albanian Prime Minister in Berlin this Tuesday, January 27th.
The German Deputy PM, Ulrike Demmer, declared that the focus of this meeting will be on the assistance that Germany can provide for Albania after the November 26th earthquake.
Rama announced the meeting with the German Chancellor during his visit to Rome, where he received support from Italy for the fundraising conference that will be held in Brussels, on February 17th, 2020.
The Albanian Prime Minister said that the reconstruction cost after the November 26th earthquake is estimated to be around 1 billion Euros.
According to Dammer, another matter that will be discussed is Albania’s presidency of the OSCE, the bilateral relations, the situation in the Western Balkan region and their EU perspective.
Angela Merkel and Germany are committed to opening negotiations with Albania and North Macedonia the soonest possible.
In a meeting with the Croatian PM, Mr.Plenkovic, Merkel declared that the two Western Balkan countries will not be treated separately on this matter.
