The World Bank published the economic report for Western Balkan, in which it underlines that after the strong economic growth of 2018, the unemployment in the region dropped to the lowest levels in history.

The messages for Albania were mainly focused on the fact that the economic growth is facing a slowdown in 2019, due to the lower energy production and fewer rain precipitations.

While in a mid-term prediction, the economic growth for Albania is expected to reach 3.5%.

“The global economic slowdown could give negative affects to the growth of exports in a mid-term period, increasing this way  the exposure towards foreign fiscal risks”, the WB says.

“To keep the impact of these risks under control, Albania must preserve the fiscal consolidation, increase the efficiency with the public spending, and implement structural reforms which could reinforce the economic growth”, the report said.
