The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, attended the annual meeting with ambassadors, which was held at the Tirana Business Park, with the topic “Economic Diplomacy”, during which he underlined some important matters.

The President underlined the importance of consolidating Albania’s foreign policy as a stability factor in the region.

“This is the biggest contribution Albania can give, in the interest of all strategic partners, but also as a NATO member, by reinforcing the region’s security”, he declared.

Meta offered to assist Kosovo with the border demarcation process with Montenegro, an issue that has blocked visa-free travel for Kosovo citizens for years now.

The President underlined the need for an active and competitive diplomacy.

“Based on globalization, Albania must be more present in the region and other continents. Of course, we are a modest country and we cannot do a lot with our financial resources, but we can be more present in many organizations, to better follow and better benefit from political and economic developments”, Meta said.

The President added that the EU remains a major objective for the Albanian people and that there will be more efforts to demonstrate progress with the five priorities, especially with the judiciary reform.
