The first “Air Albania” airplane, from the first Albanian air company, landed this Friday at the Rinas Airport. It is an Airbus 319, with the Albanian Air logo.

The first flights will be towards Istanbul, and the next destinations will be to Rome, London and Milan.

The government started the procedures for Air Albania this June. The three main partners who own the corporate are Albcontrol, with 10%, representing the Albanian shareholders, and two other companies, Turkish Airlines and MDN Investments, with 49% and 41% respectively.

According to the governed, Air Albania will offer more low-cost flights from Albania.

The Albanian Prime Minister, present at the Inauguration, said that this is a dream that has turned into a reality, and that a few years ago seemed impossible.
