“Democracy” in hospitals

The Rector of Tirana University postponed the procedures for electing
the chiefs of pavilions, since for all 35 pavilions there were only 35
candidacies, leaving no chances to a democratic selection.

“There are many services and the problem is that there is only one candidate for each pavilion. This doesn’t mean that they will be automatically approved in the future. Meanwhile, we will see a possible reformation of current services. We might need to reorganize special services and reform the structure of specific services, depending on the situation”, said the Rector of Tirana University, Dhori Kule.

The rector added that the Education Ministry has exceeded all legal limits for the Rectorate’s request to discharge the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. Kule emphasizes that the request for his dismissal is based on evidence that prove violations not only with the students’ specializations.

The Ministry of Education has proposed to add specialization quotas in Medicine.
