The government has opened the procedures for selling the second 3G license to cellphone companies.

Currently there is only one license in a market that is one of most developed and lucrative markets in Albania. The license was bought one year ago by a private company for 30 million Euros.

According to Prime Minister Berisha, who gave the news for the second 3G license, its entrance in the market would increase honest competition by resulting with price decreases, improved quality and possibilities for making use of all potentials that offers the Internet.

Prime Minister Berisha declared that he expects cellphone companies to take a new policy on SMS prices, because there is still enough space for price reduction.

Berisha declared that the Regulatory Commission has done a study and will propose appropriate interventions. However, he invited cellphone companies to review SMS prices by themselves.

Sali Berisha added that the new 3G license is good news for the citizens and the services that they will take in this market that offers unlimited communication.
