During the governmental meeting that approved student quotas for the new
academic year, the Prime Minister Sali Berisha focused on education and
declared that in 2011 there are 1600 quotas more than one year before.

The Prime Minister Berisha appreciated that the 39,000 students who graduated from high schools this year, will be able to compete in faculties increasingly oriented by the job market.

A fact for this is that 13 of these quotas are oriented in information technology, engineering and natural sciences. Although satisfied for this novelty and for the increase of student quotas, Prime Minister Berisha emphasized the improved quality of high education in public and private universities.

“We cannot compete with developed countries, because we are still aiming to become a developed country. But in the education system there will be no other objectives except of that for becoming like all OECD countries. We will have no other standard to achieve, except this standard. Therefore, we must do all that we can for undergoing all education classification processes. We must encourage classifications, despite the position we are in. What’s important is to get qualified. There’s nothing more important for a nation than its education”, Berisha declared.
