ALL has continued its devaluation against Euro even during August,
despite the reports for high fluxes of
tourists, as news agencies report.
According to official data from Bank of Albania, which are referred to the average currency rate, 1 Euro is currently exchanged with 140.27 ALL from 139.5 that it was in the beginning of the month.
Different to other years, the tourist season and the return of the emigrants have not strengthened the national currency, which keeps showing weakening signals against Euro.
In the last report of its monetary policy, Bank of Albania did not exclude the risk of taking another hit from the currency rate, which according to the Bank could be a consequence of the crisis escalation in Eurozone, and that would shrink foreign investments and other foreign finances for the Albanian economy.
